Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Role Overview: The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level registered nurse responsible for delivering clinically competent care within the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) team. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including data collection before, during, and after hemodialysis treatments. Coordinate and delegate tasks to care staff, ensuring safe and effective hemodialysis therapy. Administer medications, assist in emergency responses, and document patient progress. Provide patient and family education on treatment options and self-care. Participate in quality improvement activities, staff training, and interdisciplinary team collaboration. Ensure proper laboratory procedures and update care plans accordingly. Support patient awareness regarding transplant and treatment modalities. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited Nursing School and current state licensure. CPR/BLS certification required. Less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience; dialysis experience preferred. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, assist with patient mobility, and stand for prolonged periods. Strong collaboration, assessment, and communication skills. Additional Details: May supervise care staff after meeting training and experience requirements. The role involves working in a healthcare environment with exposure to infectious materials, requiring physical stamina and flexibility.
