Role Overview: The RN Clinical Nurse is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team, delivering individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care in a clinical setting. They operate under the guidance of Nurse Managers and the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, adhering to evidence-based practices, the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, and the ANA Code of Ethics. Key Responsibilities: Perform the Nursing Process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and evidence-based standards. Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that respects cultural diversity and involves patients and families through effective communication and education. Coordinate care delivery, ensuring timely documentation and fostering a respectful, inclusive environment. Promote teamwork through interdisciplinary communication, participate in performance improvement, and support shared governance initiatives. Engage in professional development, serve as a preceptor/mentor, and uphold clinical standards and organizational policies. Support evidence-based practice, participate in research activities, and contribute to quality improvement projects. Assist in developing protocols, optimize resource utilization, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Qualifications & Skills: Associate or Bachelor’s Nursing degree; Baccalaureate preferred. Current RN license (single-state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification. Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in direct patient care. Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies with professionalism. Proficiency in technology and clinical documentation.
