Senior Accountant

Job Title: Senior Accountant Location: Altamonte Springs, FL Schedule: Monday-Friday (Hybrid schedule after training) Compensation: $80,000-$95,000 base Job Summary: Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting team with insurance industry experience. This individual will take ownership of complex month-end accounting and reconciliation responsibilities, support expanding insurance operations, and help mentor Staff Accountants as the department grows. The ideal candidate brings insurance accounting experience, strong technical accounting skills, and the potential to develop into a future Accounting Manager. This is a hybrid position in Altamonte Springs, FL. Key Responsibilities: Prepare month-end journal entries and assist with month-end report compilation Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile cash deposits, credit card and ACH sales receivables, petty cash, and other accounts Record bank transactions, including deposits, ACH and wires, and reconcile bank deposits to system postings Account for intercompany transactions and record biweekly payroll entries Prepare invoices, sales tax returns, and quarterly fixed asset and lease schedules for various businesses Respond to accounting-related inquiries and complete ad hoc accounting projects across the organization Provide support and mentorship to Staff Accountants while helping absorb responsibilities associated with continued growth Key Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience. Insurance accounting experience required, or a public/private accounting mix with at least one year of private Senior Accountant experience. CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus. Strong month-end close, reconciliation, journal entry, and general ledger accounting skills. Leadership potential with the ability and interest to develop into a future Accounting Manager.
