Staff Accountant

Location: Boca Raton, FL Experience: 1-3 years Work Schedule: Hybrid About The Company A growing organization operating within the automotive protection, warranty, and insurance space. Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, the organization provides vehicle protection and warranty-related products through automotive dealerships and dealer groups. The company has approximately 300 employees and a substantial Accounting & Finance organization supporting approximately 34 entities. The finance function includes Accounting, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, and Data teams, providing employees with exposure to a broad range of financial operations. Position Overview The Staff Accountant will join a growing Accounting & Finance team and play an active role in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and other accounting functions across a multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of accounting experience and be looking to take the next step in their career by gaining greater ownership of accounting processes and increased exposure to a complex, multi-entity organization. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts. Perform monthly account reconciliations and research and resolve discrepancies. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for financial reporting. Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and internal reporting. Review accounting activity for accuracy and identify unusual transactions or discrepancies. Research accounting issues and work with internal departments to resolve them. Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation. Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash, and other accounting functions as needed. Support internal controls and accounting process improvement initiatives. Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation when required. Participate in ad hoc accounting projects and financial analysis. Take ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities and meet established deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum 3.5 GPA required. 1-3 years of professional accounting experience. Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles. Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with financial data. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience within insurance, warranty, automotive, financial services, or another multi-entity environment is a plus.
