Acute Medicine Registered Nurse FT Days

Role Overview: Provides direct patient care in an acute medicine unit with a capacity of 13 adult patients, managing complex medical conditions such as renal, endocrine, neurological, GI/GU, pulmonary, infectious disease, and cardiology. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, social workers, dieticians, therapists, and pharmacists to deliver excellent care. Responsibilities: Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration. Participates in activities to ensure patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engages in professional development. Develops and documents individualized care plans, coordinating communication across care teams and with patients and families. Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and barriers. Contributes to a safe environment, adhering to safety protocols and standards of nursing care. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred. Licenses & Certifications: RN license required. Experience: No experience necessary; 2 years preferred for advanced roles. Skills: Strong assessment, communication, and collaboration abilities, with a focus on patient safety and holistic care.
