Registered Nurse - ICU

Role Overview: The registered nurse provides comprehensive patient care in a high-acuity CVICU environment, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions. Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary or accountable nurse, ensuring safe medication administration and adherence to standards and policies. Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management. Support resource utilization, participate in shared governance, quality improvement, and peer review. Mentor new staff and students, and perform charge nurse or shift coordinator duties when needed. Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to clinical excellence programs. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; BSN preferred. Current New York State RN license; CCRN and certifications like ACLS, PALS are advantageous. Compassionate, collaborative, adaptable, and committed to continuous growth. Excellent communication skills and adherence to ethical standards. Work Environment & Requirements: Fast-paced clinical settings with exposure to equipment, disinfectants, and PPE. Must be capable of walking, standing, and lifting frequently. All patient ages served, with access to sensitive patient information based on HIPAA roles.
