Test Lab Technician

Position Summary The Test Lab Technician performs electrical testing of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, components, and materials. This position sets up test equipment, follows approved procedures, records results, and helps investigate failures. The technician works with Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure products meet customer specifications and Midcon’s quality requirements. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Set up and perform tests according to customer specifications, drawings, work instructions, and approved test procedures. Conduct applicable tests such as continuity, resistance, insulation resistance, dielectric withstand, pull force, and other electrical or mechanical tests. Operate DIT-MCO automated test equipment and approved test programs to test wire harnesses and cable assemblies; review results and investigate test failures. Inspect test setups and verify that equipment and fixtures are suitable for the work. Accurately record test conditions, measurements, results, and any deviations in required records or systems. Identify failed or unusual results, contain affected product as directed, and communicate findings to the appropriate team. Assist Engineering and Quality with troubleshooting, failure analysis, prototype evaluations, and process improvements. Build or maintain test fixtures and cables within the scope of the position. Monitor equipment calibration status and report equipment that is damaged, overdue for calibration, or operating improperly. Handle customer products and technical information in accordance with applicable quality, safety, and security requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe test area. Perform other related duties as assigned.
