Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Old Navy in St Peters, MO is a full-time, on-site position responsible for supporting store leadership in driving sales and delivering an outstanding customer experience. Day-to-day, the Assistant Manager helps lead the sales floor, ensures product is well-presented and stocked, and models engaging, customer-first service. This role assists with opening and closing routines, cash handling, and adherence to company policies and safety standards. The Assistant Manager supports scheduling, training, and coaching of store associates to build strong teams and maintain a positive, performance-driven culture. The role also partners with management to analyze store results, execute promotional and visual merchandising directives, and maintain operational excellence. Qualifications Retail leadership skills, including experience supervising teams, delegating tasks, and providing coaching and feedback. Customer service and sales skills, with the ability to engage customers, solve problems, and drive conversion in a fast-paced environment. Operational and organizational skills, such as cash handling, inventory management, and adherence to store procedures and safety standards. Communication and collaboration skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to work effectively with diverse team members. Basic business and analytical skills to interpret sales reports, identify trends, and support decision-making that improves store performance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weights for extended periods, and to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Previous experience in retail or customer-facing roles; prior key holder or assistant management experience is strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in business, retail management, or related fields is a plus.
