Role Description The Staff Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Plantation, FL, supporting the company’s day-to-day financial operations. Responsibilities include recording and reconciling financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. The role involves preparing journal entries, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and helping to produce accurate financial reports for internal stakeholders. The Staff Accountant will monitor budget variances, support audits, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. This position collaborates closely with management, project teams, and vendors to maintain accurate financial records and streamline accounting workflows. Qualifications Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, including GAAP, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other office applications. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners. Ability to work on-site in Plantation, FL, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all financial activities. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CPA or pursuit of certification) are a plus. Prior experience in construction, roofing, or other project-based industries is beneficial but not required.
