Chandler or Scottsdale (Hybrid) Wallace Plese + Dreher (WP+D), a locally owned CPA firm with offices in Chandler and Scottsdale, Arizona, is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our growing Client Advisory Services (CAS) team. WP+D offers a hybrid workplace, with the flexibility to work from either our Chandler or Scottsdale office. Our CAS team works closely with businesses and nonprofit organizations to provide the accounting support and financial information they need to operate effectively and make informed decisions. In this role, you will work with a variety of clients, accounting systems and industries while continuing to build your technical and client-service skills. As a Staff Accountant, you will help our clients maintain accurate financial records by providing the following services: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice entry, payment processing, and customer receipts. Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations. Review financial information and documents. Assist in processing forms 1099 for the end of the year. Diagnose, resolve, and support accounting software integration tools. Work to develop efficiencies and automation, when applicable. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. 2-3 years of accounting experience. Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Experience with month-end close processes and preparing supporting schedules. Ability to identify discrepancies and research accounting variances. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze issues and develop effective solutions. QuickBooks Desktop and Online experience. Versatile learner that will support and maintain a thorough working knowledge of cloud-based technologies (BILL, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct). Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong client-service skills and the ability to communicate financial information clearly. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive client and financial information. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize assignments and manage competing deadlines. Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within deadline constraints. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team. Adaptability and willingness to learn new accounting systems, processes, and client industries. Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness, combined with a cooperative attitude. Travel to clients in Chandler, Scottsdale, and throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area, if necessary. QuickBooks certification, prior experience in a CPA firm and not-for-profit experience is a plus.
