Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Teacher role located at Rochdale Early Advantage Charter School in Jamaica, NY. The Teacher will design and deliver engaging standards-based lessons that align with the school’s college preparatory mission and multi-literacy approach. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and implementing instruction, assessing student progress, differentiating lessons to meet diverse learning needs, and maintaining a positive, structured classroom environment. The Teacher will communicate regularly with families and colleagues, participate in grade-level and professional development meetings, and contribute to school-wide initiatives that support academic excellence and character development. The role also involves integrating technology into instruction, promoting critical thinking, and supporting students’ social-emotional growth. Qualifications Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience working with elementary grade levels and MS (Pre-K–8). Demonstrated skills in Lesson Planning and Training to design clear, effective, and differentiated instruction. Excellent Communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, and partnering with families. Relevant state teaching certification and a bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; master’s degree preferred. Experience in urban or charter school settings and familiarity with college-preparatory or multi-literacy curricula is a plus. Ability to use instructional technology, manage classrooms effectively, and support students’ social-emotional development.
