About the Position: This position is located at Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital, Fort Polk, LA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates whore are new to Federal service.
Operate trucks with gross vehicle weights up to 22,000 lbs. to transport materials inside/outside of the installation.
Load/arrange cargo onto vehicles accounting for proper vehicle clearances, turning radius, and braking distances.
Direct three or more lower graded warehouse workers in daily tasks assigned by the warehouse supervisor.
Review the work of the lower graded workers to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
Inventory materials within the department to be able to efficiently receive/issue throughout the facility.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Motor Vehicle Operator (Materials Handler) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex motor vehicle operator and material handler activities in a warehouse setting. I am skilled in assigning tasks to be performed to other workers based on instructions received from a supervisor. I am able to safely operate vehicles and equipment weighing up to 22,000 pounds. I have the ability to safely load and arrange cargo onto vehicles and in the warehouse. I am skilled at receiving, storing, issuing, and inventorying materials in a warehouse. I am consulted by other workers because of my expertise.
• Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Performs warehousing work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, and bending and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Light effort is required to operate motor vehicles. Frequently lifts supplies and materials that weigh 70 pounds. May occasionally handle items weighing over 70 pounds Working Conditions: Warehousing work is performed inside warehouses storage areas and on receiving or shipping docks. The areas may be cold, drafty, damp, or hot. Work is performed in close quarters in warehouse or bin aisles, ramps, or platforms. There is exposure to injury from falling stock; from handling materials and from mechanical equipment. Drives in all types of traffic and weather with exposure to possibility of serious accidents, cuts, bruises, and broken bones while driving, loading and unloading.
