Role Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) in acute care orthopedics assists in delivering high-quality, safe, patient-centered care within a collaborative interdisciplinary team. They follow evidence-based practices, uphold nursing standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using the nursing process. Provide culturally sensitive, relationship-based care tailored to individual patient needs and involve patients and families in care planning. Coordinate and document safe, quality care through effective communication and teamwork, supporting performance improvement initiatives. Act as a preceptor or mentor, fostering professional growth and ensuring a competent workforce. Promote evidence-based practice, participate in research, and contribute to quality improvement activities. Develop protocols, optimize resource use, and support patient care across the continuum to improve outcomes. Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience. Active RN license (single-state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification. Associate or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor's preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, time management, and computer skills. Ability to respond effectively in fast-paced environments and handle emergencies professionally.
