Staff Accountant

STAFF ACCOUNTANT Location: Blue Springs, MS Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt Work Arrangement: On-Site About the Opportunity A well-established and growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its finance team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and providing meaningful financial reporting to leadership. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Perform variance and financial analysis Support year-end financial reporting and disclosures Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax requirements Accounting Operations Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Prepare and post journal entries and accruals Complete bank and intercompany reconciliations Support monthly inventory reconciliations Manage cash application and cash management activities Process ACH and wire transfer payments Payroll Administration Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing Review payroll accruals and benefit-related payments Complete required payroll reporting Fixed Asset & Lease Accounting Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules Support annual physical asset verification processes Maintain lease accounting records Audit & Budget Support Assist with internal and external audit requests Support budget preparation, monitoring, and annual review processes Master Data Management Maintain customer, vendor, inventory, and pricing records within company systems Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Minimum 3 years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Strong attention to detail and accuracy Preferred Experience in manufacturing or corporate accounting Experience with Sage Peachtree or similar ERP/accounting systems Audit preparation and internal controls experience What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a proactive accounting professional who can operate independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
