Pipefitter

This position is in the Pipe Shop of the Facility Management Service, located in the VA Loma Linda Health Care System (VALLHCS). The Pipefitter repairs and maintains water, sewer, steam, natural gas, medical gas, and fire sprinkler systems; including: Water heaters, regulating valves, fixtures, and back flow devices. The Pipefitter is required to read blue Prints and read instructions, and specifications related to pipe fitting. Duties include, but are not limited to: Repairing and maintaining water, sewer, steam, natural gas, medical gas, and fire sprinkler systems; including: hot water heaters, regulating valves, fixtures, and back flow devices. Read blue Prints and read and interpret instructions, and specifications as related to pipe fitting. Repair and installation of domestic water systems; fire sprinkler system piping; repair of valves, regulators, filter systems, toilets, sinks, and associated piping. Performs plumbing and steam fitting work necessary in the installation of equipment. Assists with the installation/repair of mechanical pumping systems; including, sump pumps, brine pumps, condensate pumps, and pulverizing systems. Have knowledge of medical gas systems.
