Plating Technician, East Windsor CT

Essential Job Functions: Performs plating work utilizing appropriate equipment and solutions as defined by the SIFCO Process. Adheres to all specifications as detailed on customer purchase orders. Assists Contract Service Manager in preparing accurate costs for the Quoting process. Works with Inside Sales to help resolve customer technical questions. Designs and makes tooling and fixtures to facilitate efficient and effective plating. Maintains equipment in working order, identifies items needing maintenance and repair. Maintains work area to assure safe and clean work environment. Follows all company policies, department procedures and job-specific work instructions. Establishes and maintains positive and professional customer relations when interacting with customer representatives. Travels as required to meet customer delivery expectations. Essential Job Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements: Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and/or move up to 100 pounds. Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit.
