Inpatient - Medical/Surgical- Registered Nurse

Akicita Federal is hiring Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses to deliver direct inpatient care to adult patients served by the Indian Health Service in Chinle, Arizona. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in an underserved community while working within a dedicated Adult Care Unit team in the heart of the Navajo Nation. • Provide comprehensive nursing assessment, planning, and direct bedside care to adult inpatient populations in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit. • Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with established clinical protocols and provider orders. • Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and clinical progress, escalating concerns to the care team promptly and accurately. • Coordinate care transitions, discharge planning, and patient education to support safe, continuous care throughout the patient's stay. • Respond to cardiac and medical emergencies using ACLS and BLS protocols, functioning as a reliable member of the rapid-response team. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members—including physicians, specialists, and support staff—to develop and execute individualized patient care plans. • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
