Sales Consultant • Stevens Point, Wausau, Northwoods Stevens Point, WI | Full-time | Field-based A foodservice organisation is seeking a Sales Consultant to manage and grow customer relationships across the Stevens Point, Wausau and Northwoods territory. The role focuses on new business development, account management, consultative selling and identifying opportunities to grow sales and margins. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers across the assigned territory. Generate new business through relationship-based and consultative sales. Conduct in-person customer visits, presentations and product demonstrations. Recommend products and services based on customer needs. Manage customer orders while maximising sales and gross profit. Coordinate with inside sales teams to review and process customer orders. Respond quickly to customer issues, product shortages, out-of-stocks and transportation challenges. Review sales and margin reports to identify opportunities for improvement. Stay informed on product applications, market conditions, competitors and industry trends. Participate in company training, customer events and sales meetings. Maintain customer profiles, bid files and call records to support accurate pricing and reduce credits and returns. Build relationships with accounts payable contacts and coordinate with accounts receivable teams. Monitor customer payment activity and help manage outstanding receivables. Contribute to sales strategy, pricing decisions and account development. Requirements High school diploma required. 2+ years of foodservice and/or sales experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of meat and seafood categories, or a restaurant/culinary background with the ability to quickly learn product knowledge. Consultative sales approach and strong customer relationship skills. Self-motivated with strong time-management and organisational skills. Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to customer needs. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Business, Marketing, Agriculture/Animal Science or a related field. Experience in foodservice distribution, restaurant operations or related industries.
