In addition, the&nbsp;department&nbsp;assists&nbsp;NYCEDC in the allocation of resources among its properties. Position Overview: The Mechanic position&nbsp;is responsible&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;operations and&nbsp;maintenance of City-owned properties within&nbsp;NYCEDC’s&nbsp;Asset Management portfolio,&nbsp;specifically the&nbsp;Bush Terminal/MADE&nbsp;Campus in Brooklyn,&nbsp;NY,&nbsp;and other properties as assigned within the EDC portfolio.&nbsp;This role reports to the AVP of Operations&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;MADE&nbsp;Campus.&nbsp; Essential Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp; Maintenance &amp; Repairs:&nbsp;&nbsp; Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and emergency services as directed, including electrical, gas, water &amp; sewer, plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioner (HVAC), domestic water pumps, carpentry, painting,&nbsp;masonry&nbsp;and general janitorial needs. Perform cleaning duties when&nbsp;required.&nbsp;&nbsp; Field Management:&nbsp;&nbsp; Conduct daily inspections of assigned properties and&nbsp;inform&nbsp;supervisor of any maintenance issues or repairs needed. Ability to work autonomously but also receive guidance from the Specialty Mechanic or Lead Mechanic.&nbsp;&nbsp; Perform&nbsp;inspections&nbsp;and&nbsp;have&nbsp;familiarity&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;functionality&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;mechanical&nbsp;equipment.&nbsp; When&nbsp;directed,&nbsp;provide&nbsp;technical&nbsp;guidance&nbsp;to&nbsp;maintenance&nbsp;personnel,&nbsp;including&nbsp;scheduling&nbsp;and&nbsp;coordinating&nbsp;work assignments per&nbsp;supervisor&nbsp;direction.&nbsp; Outsourced Contracting:&nbsp;&nbsp; Monitor&nbsp;and report work performed by outsourced contractors.&nbsp;&nbsp; Assist&nbsp;and escort outsourced contractors when&nbsp;required.&nbsp;&nbsp; Communication and&nbsp;Reporting:&nbsp;&nbsp; Communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and external partners.&nbsp; Report on repairs&nbsp;and&nbsp;projects&nbsp;with relevant stakeholders&nbsp;to&nbsp;provide status updates&nbsp;and&nbsp;ensure&nbsp;timely&nbsp;completion of work.&nbsp; Emergency Response:&nbsp; Respond to emergencies as&nbsp;required. Must be available and responsive 24/7 and able to&nbsp;assist&nbsp;with&nbsp;solutions during the decision-making process as issues arise.&nbsp;&nbsp; Conduct&nbsp;snow&nbsp;removal duties at assigned sites&nbsp; Training:&nbsp;&nbsp; Assist the Specialty Mechanic and/or Lead Mechanic and learn new trades as needed.&nbsp;&nbsp; When directed, provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel,&nbsp;including scheduling and coordinating work assignments.&nbsp; Duty Station and Site Reporting:&nbsp;&nbsp; This is an onsite position that requires a 5-day presence at the&nbsp;Sunset Park&nbsp;Campus with travel to our&nbsp;main office&nbsp;at One Liberty Plaza as needed.&nbsp; Other duties as assigned. Certifications and Ongoing Development:&nbsp;&nbsp; While not&nbsp;required&nbsp;at the time of hire, the following certifications (not limited to) are encouraged&nbsp;and&nbsp;may&nbsp;be obtained during employment:&nbsp; OSHA 30 Hour&nbsp; FDNY S12 Supervision of Sprinkler Systems (Citywide)&nbsp; FDNY S13 Supervision of Standpipe Systems (Citywide)&nbsp; FDNY S95 Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems&nbsp; Backhoes/heavy equipment training (Dump Truck/front-end loader/skid steer/backhoe)&nbsp; NYS Driver license Class D&nbsp; Power Industrial Truck Certification&nbsp; Aerial Work Platform Certification&nbsp; CPR/AED/Basic First Aid&nbsp;Training&nbsp; TWIC Certification&nbsp; Qualifications: High&nbsp;School&nbsp;diploma&nbsp;or&nbsp;equivalent;&nbsp;vocational training or certification is a plus.&nbsp; 5+&nbsp;years&nbsp;of&nbsp;experience&nbsp;required&nbsp;with&nbsp;working&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;in&nbsp;maintenance,&nbsp;inspections&nbsp;and&nbsp;repairs&nbsp; Ability to use&nbsp;handheld&nbsp;and&nbsp;desktop&nbsp;computer&nbsp;devices&nbsp;to&nbsp;input&nbsp;work&nbsp;orders&nbsp;and&nbsp;record&nbsp;work&nbsp; Must&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;a&nbsp;valid&nbsp;NYS&nbsp;Driver&nbsp;License&nbsp;with&nbsp;clean&nbsp;driving&nbsp;record&nbsp; Working&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;of&nbsp;construction&nbsp;and&nbsp;handyman&nbsp;repair&nbsp;techniques.&nbsp;Experience&nbsp;in&nbsp;electrical, plumbing,&nbsp;HVAC&nbsp;and equipment associated with trades&nbsp; Experience&nbsp;working&nbsp;with&nbsp;hand&nbsp;tools,&nbsp;power&nbsp;tools,&nbsp;and&nbsp;materials,&nbsp;and&nbsp;equipment&nbsp;associated&nbsp;with&nbsp;construction&nbsp;related&nbsp;trades.&nbsp; Knowledge&nbsp;of&nbsp;New&nbsp;York&nbsp;City&nbsp; New York City residence&nbsp;required&nbsp;within&nbsp;180 days&nbsp;of hire&nbsp; Salary Range$60,000&mdash;$62,000 USD About Us: New York City Economic Development Corporation is a mission-driven, nonprofit organization that works for a vibrant, inclusive, and globally competitive economy for all New Yorkers.
