Call Center Representative – Health Plan Location: San Diego, CA Job Category: Non-Clinical – Administrative/Clerical Position: Call Center Representative Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Call Center Representative to support Sharp Health Plan in San Diego, CA. This position is responsible for providing high-quality communication and customer service to health plan members, healthcare providers, employer groups, internal departments, and external agencies. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills, experience handling customer inquiries and resolving concerns, and preferably previous experience in a healthcare, health plan, medical office, or call center environment . Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Call Center Support Provide professional and customer-focused assistance to health plan members, providers, employer groups, internal departments, and external agencies. Respond to inquiries regarding health plan benefits, policies, procedures, and services . Maintain a strong working knowledge of Sharp Health Plan benefits and procedures. Use sound judgment to identify and utilize appropriate resources when assisting callers. Deliver accurate and timely information while maintaining a high level of customer service. Problem Resolution Research customer questions, concerns, and issues. Accurately identify problems and determine appropriate resolutions. Assist callers with questions related to health plan benefits, policies, and procedures. Escalate or route concerns appropriately when additional assistance is required. Maintain professional communication throughout the resolution process. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required. Previous call center experience preferred. Healthcare, health plan, HMO, insurance, or medical office experience is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Basic computer and written communication skills. Ability to effectively participate in a fast-paced customer service environment. Knowledge of health maintenance organizations (HMOs), performance management, and customer satisfaction practices is beneficial. Education & Certification High School Diploma or equivalent – Required Medical Office Certification, including Medical Technology – Preferred
