This position is located in Dallas, Texas The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Fraud Section with a specialized focus on cyber-enabled fraud and technologically sophisticated financial schemes. This position will concentrate on investigating and prosecuting complex fraud matters involving digital tools, online platforms, and emerging financial technologies. In this role: You will investigate, charge, and litigate cyber-focused financial crimes, including business email compromise schemes, account takeover events, digital payment and online platform fraud, and schemes targeting elderly victims. You will also prosecute cryptocurrency-related misconduct involving blockchain misuse, fraudulent digital asset platforms, and other evolving crypto schemes. Additionally, you will handle securities fraud matters involving digital manipulation, online brokerage abuse, algorithmic trading misconduct, and other technology-driven market offenses. These investigations often involve sophisticated electronic evidence, advanced digital forensic methods, blockchain analysis tools, and coordination with multiple investigative and regulatory partners. AUSAs in this role work closely with agents, analysts, and technical specialists to trace funds, analyze data, and build cases with significant national impact. The scope and complexity of these matters make this position one of the most challenging and consequential assignments within federal fraud enforcement. The Assistant United States Attorney will serve in one of the nation's largest and most impactful districts, encompassing more than 8 million residents and employing over 100 prosecutors. Based in Dallas, you will work at the heart of a thriving corporate and investment ecosystem that drives high-volume, high-complexity fraud enforcement. Security Requirements: Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory preemployment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. In addition, continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation. Residency Requirements: Assistant United States Attorneys generally must reside in the district to which he or she is appointed or within 25 miles thereof. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 3 years post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience. Applicants will be expected to do their own legal research and writing and will be substantially self-sufficient in preparing day-to-day correspondence and pleadings. Applicants must also demonstrate excellent computer literacy skills to include experience with automated research on the Internet, electronic court filing, and electronic e-mail and word processing systems. Preferred Qualifications: Applicants must demonstrate a quick analytical ability and the facility to accurately and precisely articulate the critical issues involved with a case; superior oral and writing skills as well as strong research and interpersonal skills, and good judgment; excellent communication and courtroom skills and exhibit the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff and client agencies, and must have a demonstrated capacity to function with minimal guidance in a highly demanding environment.
