Senior Electrical Engineer

Echo Neurotechnologies

Company Overview Echo Neurotechnologies is an exciting new startup in the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) space, driving innovation through advanced hardware engineering and AI solutions. Our mission is to deliver cutting-edge technologies that restore autonomy to people living with disabilities and improve their quality of life.   Team Culture Join a small, dedicated team of knowledgeable and motivated professionals. Our early-stage environment offers the opportunity to take ownership of broad decisions with significant and long-lasting impact. We emphasize continuous learning and growth, fostering cross-functional collaboration where your contributions are vital to our success.Role Overview As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will drive electrical system architecture and circuit design for medicaldevices spanning wearables to active implants. You will work across the full stack of low-power medicalelectronics, from novel sensing modalities and sensor front-ends to wireless power and communicationsystems, taking designs from concept through simulation, silicon, and board bring-up to a validated product. You bring a robust core skillset in electrical engineering, specialist know-how in one or more related areas, andenjoy working across the boundaries between hardware, firmware, mechanical, and software. Key Responsibilities System Architecture: Architect and design EE systems integrating compute, sensing, power, andcommunications within tightly power- and space-constrained form factors, from body-worn wearables toimplants. Sensing & Sensors: Explore, evaluate, and prototype novel sensing modalities and sensor interfaces, translating concepts into product-oriented designs. Electrical & Circuit Design: Design and characterize analog/mixed-signal circuits for wearable andimplantable applications, including simulation, statistical validation, and bench characterization. Wireless Power: Develop custom wireless power transfer systems with a focus on high end-to-endefficiency, robust performance across varying coupling conditions, and modern control methods. Electromagnetic Simulation: Perform EM simulations to design and optimize wireless power coils andcommunication antennas (BLE, Wi-Fi, UWB, etc.), and correlate simulation results with measurements. Mixed-Signal ASIC Development: Contribute to ASIC architecture definition, develop newanalog/mixed-signal modules and IP, run block- and system-level simulations, and lead post-siliconvalidation. PCBA Development: Develop and own PCBAs from schematic capture and layout through bring-up,debug, and design iteration. Qualifications & Skills Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field. Equivalent experience and exceptionalcapabilities will be considered. Specialist expertise in one or more of: mixed-signal ASIC development, wireless power systems, radiosand antennas. Experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design experience (simulation, characterization, statisticalvalidation). Experience developing systems with MCUs and FPGAs. Experience with RF/EM simulation tools and methods (e.g., Ansys HFSS, CST Studio Suite, AnsysMaxwell, or equivalent). Hands-on lab proficiency with instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum and vector networkanalyzers, impedance analyzers, and source measure units. Functional knowledge of C, Python, and Verilog. Comfortable working across hardware, firmware, mechanical, and software boundaries andcollaborating with cross-functional device teams. Salary$145,000—$185,000 USDWhat We Offer An opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge projects to transform patients’ lives in a highly collaborative work environment. Competitive compensation, including stock options. Comprehensive benefits package. 401(k) program with matching contributions.   Equal Opportunity Employer Echo Neurotechnologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
