Position Overview SteerBridge is seeking a Software Engineer to support a fleet aviation modernization program in Vienna, VA. This role will contribute to the development of next-generation aviation analytics and operational software solutions supporting mission-critical initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience developing modern full-stack applications and working within collaborative engineering environments that leverage cloud technologies, AI/ML capabilities, and modern software development practices.   Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, reliable, and maintainable full-stack applications using TypeScript. Support the productionization and integration of AI/ML-driven capabilities, analytics solutions, and data-enabled features. Collaborate with engineering, data science, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into effective software solutions. Participate in peer code reviews, testing, and software quality assurance activities to maintain engineering standards and application quality. Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, automation, and Agile software delivery practices supporting efficient and reliable releases. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues to support application performance and mission objectives. Required Qualifications Eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for this position under applicable federal contract requirements. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for the role. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of full-stack software engineering experience developing and maintaining production applications. Strong proficiency with React.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern JavaScript (ES6+). Experience with MERN or PERN stack technologies, including MongoDB or PostgreSQL, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices, with familiarity using Docker and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Strong communication, collaboration, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting aviation, aerospace, defense, federal, or other mission-critical programs. Experience developing or supporting AI/ML-enabled applications and capabilities. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Experience working within Agile and/or DevSecOps development environments.
