Plant Operator Fairfield, Connecticut $42 - $51 per hour A Plant Operator is required for a full-time opportunity supporting the safe, environmentally compliant and efficient operation of a power generation facility. This role is suited to an experienced plant operator with a background in power plant operations, boiler systems and steam generation. The Plant Operator will be responsible for monitoring operational and emissions data, responding to changing plant conditions, and supporting safe and efficient boiler performance. The role also offers the opportunity to provide guidance to other plant personnel and contribute to maintaining a positive working environment. Plant Operator Benefits: $42 - $51 per hour Medical, dental and vision coverage Life insurance and short-term disability benefits 401(k) programme with company match Paid vacation, holidays and personal days Tuition reimbursement plan College loan reimbursement and dependent scholarship programme Parental leave programme The Plant Operator Role: Monitor plant operational and emissions data to support safe and efficient operation Detect and respond to changing operating conditions to maintain safety, environmental compliance and performance Support boiler combustion, steam flow and power generation operations Coordinate, guide and train assistant operators and other plant personnel as required Carry out equipment inspections during outages Perform mechanical tasks associated with maintaining boilers and plant equipment Assist with plant operations and equipment checks across the facility Step in as acting Shift Supervisor when required Plant Operator Requirements: Previous experience working in a power plant environment as an Assistant Plant Operator or comparable position Experience with steam generating power plant operation and control Mechanical skills suitable for equipment maintenance tasks, inspections and repairs Ability to complete required calculations and apply strong mathematical skills Knowledge and understanding of boiler operations and plant processes Ability to obtain an ASME QRO Provisional licence Comfortable working in an industrial environment, including climbing, working at height and accessing plant areas Additional requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work around industrial equipment, access confined spaces, and use required personal protective equipment including respiratory protection, safety harnesses and protective clothing.
