# International Development Manager (Turkey and Central Asia)

RTE Global is an international education consultancy headquartered in Dubai and led by senior UK higher education professionals. We work closely with UK universities on international student recruitment, partnerships and transnational education. We are now looking for an International Development Manager, based in Istanbul, to drive business development across Turkey and Central Asia for one of our key UK university clients. This is a critical appointment for both our client and for us, and our expectations reflect that importance. The Role At its heart, this is a business development role. Our client already has an established recruitment partner in Istanbul, and part of your job is to support that partner's work: joining events, briefing counsellors, and providing training and guidance on the university's programmes and requirements. The larger part, however, is growth. You will build and manage the university's sub-agent network across Turkey and Central Asia by identifying, onboarding, and training new sub-agents; managing their performance; and opening up territory where the university currently has little or no presence. Day to day, that means representing the university at fairs, counsellor briefings and partner meetings, coordinating outreach and conversion campaigns, managing the pipeline from first enquiry through application, offer and enrolment, and providing regular market intelligence, forecasts and performance reports. All activity must meet UK visa and regulatory requirements, including agent due diligence and genuine student assessment. Striking the right balance matters. The network you build must complement the existing partner's work rather than compete with it, so you will need both the commercial instinct to grow the market and the diplomacy to keep every relationship aligned. You will also work directly with the client university, presenting to academics, briefing professional services teams, and preparing written reports for senior audiences, so your written work will represent you and the university at a senior level. The Right Candidate You will have at least two years' experience in international student recruitment or education business development, and you must be able to evidence a strong, active agent network built in previous roles, whether in Turkey, in Central Asia or across both. We mean genuine working relationships rather than a contact list: agents who take your calls, trust your judgement and engage seriously with a university because you have asked them to. Be prepared to talk specifically about where your network reaches and what it has delivered. Admissions experience within UK higher education is desirable and will strengthen your application, particularly an understanding of how offers are made and what UKVI compliance requires, although it is not essential. You will be an outstanding communicator, both in writing and in person, able to move comfortably from a training session with agency counsellors to a briefing with senior university staff. Because this role works alongside an established partner as well as in front of new agents, it also calls for tact and sound judgement: the ability to grow the market while keeping existing relationships strong and every party confident in you. Fluency in Turkish (essential), Russian or other regional languages would be an advantage. The role will require regular travel throughout the territory.
