Security Assistance Program Specialist

About the Position: This position is located within the United States Military Training Mission (USMTM) on Al Nahkla Compound in downtown, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Al Nahkla compound is a high end resort with both living, working and recreational areas. There are activities including, gyms, swimming, pools and a tennis court, plus grocery, food and several retail service facilities. The weather can be hot and dry with extreme heat in the summer months and mild winters with little rain. Ensures that Letters of Request (LORs) and Letters of Offer and Acceptance (LOAs) are processed and completed within the constraints and guidelines established in the Security Assistance Management Manual (SAMM). Monitors for the FMS customer(s), the receipt and issue of funds on a timely basis in a manner that precludes over-distribution and assures prompt funding of vital programs. Plans, performs, or gives direction to the accomplishment of special studies and projects relating to weapon/equipment system planning, logistics planning, reviewing, analyzing, reporting, and scheduling methods, techniques, or procedures. Investigates system related problem areas, bottlenecks, conflicts to develop cause, effect, solution, or alternative approaches to recommend corrective action to responsible persons Establishes liaison with Saudi Arabian Government personnel, Department of Defense, Department of State, U.S. Military Services, and command level staff and field activity managers involved in the U.S. Security Assistance Program. Provides technical advice in particular cases. Ensures close coordination with the activities involved. Resolves issues to ensure that consistent and timely approaches are taken to fulfilling U.S. Government commitments. Prepares briefing books, trip books, read-ahead, issue papers, action and information memoranda and other documents for senior U.S. and foreign government personnel. Represents the command meetings and conferences, as the specialist on all aspects of current and future US Security Assistance on specific programs.
