Position Summary Gold Star Foods is hiring experienced Full-Time CDL Class A Route Delivery Drivers for our Pendergrass, GA location! Are you a dependable, safety-focused CDL A Truck Driver looking for a stable, full-time driving opportunity with competitive pay, consistent routes, and the ability to be home daily with weekends off ? We are seeking professional Class A drivers to safely transport and deliver foodservice products to K–12 schools throughout our regional service area. This position is ideal for drivers experienced in tractor-trailer operations, local and regional delivery, dedicated routes, multi-stop deliveries, and foodservice distribution who take pride in delivering exceptional customer service. As a Gold Star Foods driver, you'll operate newer equipment, work with a supportive transportation team, and play an essential role in supporting school nutrition programs. Competitive Starting Pay: $27.50 per hour Full-Time Employment: Average 45–55 hours per week Home Daily: Return home after completing your assigned routes Weekends Off: Monday–Friday work schedule Consistent Routes: School-based foodservice deliveries Modern Equipment: Newer Peterbilt and Freightliner trucks Overtime Opportunities: Overtime compensation in accordance with applicable law and company policy Career Stability: Join an established, growing foodservice distribution organization Meaningful Work: Help deliver essential food products to schools and communities Position Details Starting Pay: $27.50 per hour Job Type: Full-Time Location: 86 Jackson Concourse, Pendergrass, GA Schedule: Monday–Friday Shift: Evening/Night Shift Start Time: Approximately 7:00 p.m. until route completion Average Weekly Hours: 45–55 hours Route Type: Local and regional school foodservice deliveries Home Time: Home Daily Weekends: Off Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles, including tractor-trailers , to transport and deliver foodservice products to K–12 schools and designated customer locations. Complete assigned local and regional multi-stop delivery routes safely, accurately, and on schedule. Operate newer Peterbilt and Freightliner trucks equipped with lift gates and delivery equipment. Load, unload, and deliver products using electric and manual pallet jacks, two-wheel dollies, and lift gates . Perform hands-on deliveries, including touch freight , at locations with and without loading docks. Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip DOT vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is safe and roadworthy. Verify product quantities, maintain accurate delivery records, and obtain required customer signatures. Follow established delivery routes, dispatch instructions, and customer delivery requirements. Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, hours-of-service regulations, and company safety policies . Safely maneuver tractor-trailers in school parking lots, loading areas, and other delivery locations. Provide professional, courteous customer service while maintaining positive relationships with school personnel and customers. Communicate promptly with dispatch and transportation leadership regarding delays, delivery discrepancies, equipment concerns, or safety issues. Report accidents, injuries, vehicle damage, and unsafe conditions immediately in accordance with company procedures. Maintain cleanliness and proper care of assigned trucks, trailers, and delivery equipment. Work Schedule Support additional transportation and operational responsibilities as assigned. Days: Monday–Friday Shift: Evening/Night Shift Start Time: Approximately 7:00 p.m. End Time: Upon completion of assigned delivery routes Average Weekly Hours: 45–55 hours Home Daily: No regularly scheduled overnight stays Weekends: Off Start and end times may vary based on route assignments, school schedules, customer needs, and operational requirements. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) . Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate . Demonstrated experience safely operating tractor-trailers and Class A commercial vehicles . Ability to meet company driver qualification standards, including review of applicable 10-year driving and employment history . Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, commercial vehicle safety requirements, and hours-of-service rules . Ability to safely operate and maneuver commercial vehicles in tight delivery areas. Ability to perform physical delivery duties, including loading, unloading, and transporting products using delivery equipment. Ability to work evening/night shifts and complete assigned delivery routes. Strong attention to safety, reliability, punctuality, and customer service. Effective communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to pass required pre-employment drug screening, background checks, and applicable fingerprinting requirements . Ability to satisfy all applicable DOT and company driver qualification requirements. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a CDL A Route Driver, Local Truck Driver, Foodservice Delivery Driver, or Tractor-Trailer Driver . Experience with multi-stop deliveries, touch freight, and dedicated delivery routes . Experience delivering to schools, restaurants, institutions, grocery distributors, or commercial customers . Familiarity with lift gates, pallet jacks, two-wheel dollies, and electronic delivery systems . Doubles/Triples (T) endorsement. TWIC card. Experience using electronic logging devices (ELDs), route management systems, or electronic proof-of-delivery tools.
