# Assistant Director of Revenue Integrity

Purpose: Supervises the Revenue Cycle operations including insurance and self-pay follow-up, and cashiering. Job Relationship Responsible to the Director of Revenue Integrity. Supervises in site Revenue Cycle employees Inter-relationships with patients, nursing, administration, physicians and general public is essential. Essential Functions: Monitors all activity within the Revenue Cycle to ensure all corporate goals are met monthly. Ensures Self Pay Conversion Rate goals are met. Accomplishes Unbilled revenue at or below goal days Maintains AR days at or below planned days. Assists with review of accounts to insure adequate and proper follow-up and documentation occurs on each account. Maintains weekly collections reports on patients account. Works with billing and collection functions of the Revenue Cycle by reviewing balance reports. Monitors collection activity using weekly reports to resolve trends and determine collectability of accounts. Provides for orientation/training of new employees. Assists Director of Revenue integrity with interviews for job openings in a courteous, professional manner. Educates employees regarding department policies and procedures during the first week of employment, Develops policy and procedure for department operations Manages the department in the absence of the department director. Maintains a sufficient flow of work by evaluating daily census, employee absentees, and collection activity. Handles patient complaints concerning their account in a professional and courteous manner. Communicates with nursing concerning patient care in a courteous and professional manner Communicates with Medical. Records on patient complaints concerning diagnosis. 5. Adheres to and follows the principles of good customer relations. Adheres to and follows the principles of good customer relations. Promotes quality guest relations by identifying both internal and external customers; acknowledging customers promptly; and, using expressions that express respect, understanding and enhance self esteem. Creates a positive impression through effective use of telephone skills such as answering the phone by the third ring, identification of self and department, listening attentively, personalizing the conversation and verifying information. Creates a supportive climate for customers by allowing customers to express themselves, addressing their concerns as being real and encouraging two-way communication. Promotes therapeutic interaction with customers by identifying behaviors resulting from dissatisfaction, then, allowing customers to respond openly, showing empathy and discussing options. Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred but not required. Experience in lieu of college education considered. Experience: One year hospital billing, collections or Revenue Cycle experience preferred, Experience with third party payor procedures to maintain a current, knowledgeable position relative to these procedures. Management Experience Required: Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills. Proven managerial skills, Supervisory experience required.
