Supervisory Pharmacy Technician

About the Position: This position is located within the Guthrie Army Health Clinic at Fort Drum, New York. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Supervise and reconcile department contracts and pharmacy support systems. Initiate, review, and process procurement requests for pharmaceutical supplies. Perform or direct others to ordering, receipt, and storing of pharmaceutical supplies. Serve as a procurement agent for the Department of Pharmacy using prime vendors(s), contracts, delegated PBA, and/or credit cards authority and procedures to purchase required drugs. Plan work on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis to be accomplished by technicians within the pharmacy. Develop training plans to teach basic procedures and utilization of the computer system(s) to newly assigned staff. Serve as a security manager to ensure security of the pharmacy stockroom. Coordinate and assist with medication recall in accordance with policies and procedures. Prepare periodic reports to the Chief Department of Pharmacy that provide information relative to reverse medication distribution. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes filling prescriptions and/or distributing pharmaceutical products, providing training or supervising staff in a pharmacy setting, and managing inventory such as; proper stocking, storage, substitution, and/or disposal of pharmaceutical items. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Pharmacology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
