Role Overview: The Inpatient Services RN CAP 1 is an entry-level registered nurse responsible for providing clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Key Responsibilities: Perform patient data collection and analysis, adjust treatment plans, and document in medical records. Educate patients and families on care needs. Recognize and report patient status changes, administer treatments and medications, and respond to emergencies. Collaborate with healthcare team members and coordinate communication across facilities. Assist in staff training and may provide specialized nursing instructions. Complete CAP requirements for advancement and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited nursing school, current state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and basic nephrology or dialysis experience preferred. Entry-level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience, including at least 9 months as an RN, with 6 months in acute dialysis preferred. Requires physical ability for patient handling, standing, and lifting, and flexibility to work in healthcare environments involving infectious risks and variable shifts. Supervision & Training: May oversee Patient Care Technicians, LVNs, LPNs, or RNs as designated Nurse in Charge after meeting training and experience prerequisites. Physical & Work Environment: Involves physical activities like heavy lifting, moving patients, and prolonged standing. Work settings are healthcare facilities with typical noise levels and potential exposure to infectious materials. May require travel and participation in on-call rotations.
