Software Engineer

Our team is currently recruiting for an innovative employee owned research and development firm located in Falls Church Virginia. This organization specializes in solving sophisticated national security issues and is looking for a Software Engineer with a strong background in Scientific Computing to join their technical staff. The primary focus of this role is to bridge the gap between theoretical research and operational software. You will collaborate closely with physicists and engineers to transition advanced image and signal processing algorithms from high level languages like Python into high performance C or C plus plus code. This involves the full software lifecycle from prototyping to deployment including performance analysis on real world data sets. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mathematics Physics or Engineering with a specialized focus on scientific computing. You should have a clear passion for applying math and physics to develop practical solutions. Proficiency in both Python specifically using libraries like numpy scipy and pandas and C or C plus plus is essential. Excellent technical writing skills are required to document algorithm performance and code functionality. This is a full time onsite position that requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS SCI security clearance. Applicants must be US citizens and willing to undergo a comprehensive background check and drug screening. Preferred individuals will have experience with data visualization Linux environments and GPU optimization using CUDA. Knowledge of parallel programming models such as MPI or OpenMP and experience with remote sensing EO or SAR or classical signal processing techniques like target tracking and detection is highly desirable. Salary ranges are determined by education and professional experience. Engineer Level 1 ranges from 90,000 to 125,000 dollars. Engineer Level 2 ranges from 110,000 to 145,000 dollars. Staff Engineer ranges from 130,000 to 165,000 dollars.
