Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a Customer Service Representative based in Wayne, NJ . A background check may be run only after a conditional offer is made, where permitted by law . Position: Customer Service Representative Location: Wayne, NJ Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: $70-80K Position Overview The Customer Service Representative will serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, orders, and support requests. This role ensures accurate order processing, timely communication, and effective coordination across departments to meet customer needs. The position requires strong attention to detail, collaboration, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Receive, review, and process customer orders via phone, email, fax, and electronic ordering systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Enter sales and contract orders into the company’s ERP system and provide timely order confirmations to customers. Monitor inventory availability, track shipments, follow up on backorders, and communicate order updates proactively. Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Production, Shipping, Logistics, and other departments to resolve order issues and meet customer requirements. Respond to customer requests for samples, returns, product specifications, and regulatory documentation promptly. Maintain accurate customer records, order documentation, and product information in the system. Communicate customer complaints, order discrepancies, and delivery concerns to the appropriate internal teams for resolution. Assist with special projects and support quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives as needed. Required Experience/Skills Previous customer service or order processing experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with ERP or order management systems preferred. Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments in a team-oriented environment. High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Industry experience in food, flavor, fragrance, or manufacturing is a plus. Preferred Experience/Skills Experience managing customer accounts and order fulfillment in a manufacturing or production environment. Familiarity with ERP systems and data entry best practices. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving order or inventory issues. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional customer interaction. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred. Coursework or certification in customer service or supply chain management is beneficial. Ongoing professional development in customer relations or ERP systems encouraged.
