# Director of Marketing

POSITION SUMMARY Under guidance of the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Marketing will develop and implement a cohesive strategy to market Spartanburg County as a destination to live, work, play and invest. Additionally, the Director of Marketing will develop and implement marketing campaigns that advance the initiatives of OneSpartanburg, Inc. and Experience Spartanburg. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and tasks to be performed include Lead the implementation of a cohesive place marketing strategy that drives talent attraction, economic investment, and tourism. Develop and implement data-driven marketing strategies to impact visitation across Spartanburg County. Lead development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns for a variety of OneSpartanburg, Inc. and Experience Spartanburg initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve digital footprints of Experience Spartanburg and OneSpartanburg, Inc. through digital marketing best practices; implement and report on improvements Manage partnerships with marketing agencies, contractors and vendors as needed to ensure campaigns and marketing projects achieve established goals Develop and lead the implementation of an annual social media and email marketing strategy that promotes Spartanburg County as a destination. Report on the impact and effectiveness of marketing efforts to appropriate function leaders. Leverage communications, design and social media expertise of MarComm team members Stay current with marketing and social media trends and incorporate them into strategy Additional duties as assigned ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Minimum requirements to perform this role include Degree in a related field (marketing, advertising) Three years or more experience working on multichannel marketing campaigns Experience in PR-earned media, paid media, email marketing, working with influencers and managing a website CMS. Experience managing social media channels on behalf of a brand or organization BENEFICIALS SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Ideal candidate will have these skills, education, experience Strong understanding of search engine optimization, AI visibility Experience in destination marketing Experience managing projects through a project management or workflow system
