# Management Analyst

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Program Integrity, Executive Support Group. As a Management Analyst, GS-0343-13, you will perform a variety of complex management analysis assignments where the employee applies qualitative and quantitative methods to the analysis and evaluation of administrative operations, organizations, and management practices to determine efficiency and effectiveness.
Gathers and analyzes data using quantitative methods, surveys, interviews, and research to support recommendations for improving management processes.
Reviews managerial policies to identify gaps, assess legislative impact, and suggest policy changes for greater efficiency.
Advises managers and program officials on policy implementation — Provides guidance on actions needed to accomplish work in accordance with established requirements and agency/HHS regulations.
Prepares detailed reports for senior leadership on workforce and organizational issues, supporting plans for Executive Orders and new legislation.

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1.Evaluating management practices and resource utilization across large organizations to deliver data-driven recommendations to leadership. 2. Designing large-scale studies of work processes and resource utilization, producing reports with data-driven implementation plans and timetables. AND 3. Analyzing large volumes of quantitative and qualitative data; metrics, resource utilization, and administrative records to drive management reporting. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current or former Federal employees and current or former Federal employees applying under the VEOA eligibility who hold or have held a permanent General Schedule position in the previous year must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
