We partner with clients to operate, improve, and modernize critical finance functions while combining deep accounting expertise with technology, automation, AI, and scalable delivery models. As a Managing Director in our Automated Finance Delivery practice, you will have senior leadership responsibility for growing the Automated Finance business, developing strategic client relationships, shaping large-scale delivery models, and ensuring CFGI consistently delivers high-quality accounting and controllership services. You will work closely with CFOs, Controllers, CAOs, boards, investors, and other senior stakeholders while developing the next generation of CFGI leaders and expanding the firm’s market presence. Roles & Responsibilities Lead the development and growth of CFGI’s Automated Finance business and strategic client portfolio. Originate, shape, and oversee significant Automated Finance, outsourced accounting, and controllership engagements. Serve as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Controllers, CAOs, boards, investors, and other senior stakeholders. Provide executive oversight of large-scale recurring accounting and finance operations, including financial close, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and related controllership functions. Define delivery strategies, governance models, operating structures, and quality expectations for significant client relationships. Ensure Automated Finance engagements deliver consistent quality, strong financial outcomes, client satisfaction, scalability, and appropriate risk management. Advise clients on finance operating models, accounting-delivery strategies, process standardization, technology enablement, automation, and organizational design. Lead complex transitions from internal or fragmented accounting operations into standardized, outsourced, or technology-enabled delivery models. Champion the integration of AI, automation, analytics, ERP platforms, and other technologies into Automated Finance solutions. Coordinate CFGI capabilities across accounting advisory, finance transformation, data and analytics, technology, transactions, and other relevant service lines. Identify and develop significant new client opportunities and expand strategic relationships across CFGI capabilities. Lead proposals, solution design, pricing, negotiations, and executive presentations for significant opportunities. Develop Directors, Senior Managers, and other practice leaders and support succession planning across the Automated Finance organization. Establish and reinforce practice standards, delivery methodologies, talent strategies, and operating expectations. Participate in broader firm leadership, recruiting, market development, strategic planning, and other initiatives supporting CFGI’s continued growth. What you must have 12+ years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting/audit, accounting advisory, outsourced accounting, Automated Finance, shared services, or a comparable accounting environment, including extensive senior leadership experience overseeing recurring accounting or controllership delivery. At least 1 year of external audit experience with a public accounting firm. Experience leading significant client relationships, accounting-service organizations, or complex finance operations involving ongoing financial close, reporting, controllership, and related accounting processes. What sets you apart Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Extensive experience overseeing large-scale recurring accounting operations and controllership activities across multiple clients, business units, or delivery teams. Experience building, operating, or scaling outsourced accounting, Automated Finance, shared-services, controllership, or comparable accounting-delivery capabilities. Demonstrated experience advising CFOs, Controllers, CAOs, boards, investors, or other senior executives on significant finance and accounting matters. Experience designing and governing delivery models that include service levels, controls, quality standards, escalation processes, staffing models, and performance measures. Experience leading complex accounting-service transitions, transformations, or operating-model changes while maintaining continuity of accounting operations. Strong track record of developing senior teams and leaders responsible for ongoing accounting delivery. Demonstrated experience originating new business, expanding strategic client relationships, and leading complex professional-services sales opportunities. Sustained progression into senior leadership roles with increasing responsibility for clients, people, delivery quality, commercial outcomes, and practice growth. Nice to have CPA, MBA, CFA, or another relevant professional credential. Experience building or scaling a significant technology-enabled accounting or finance-delivery business. Experience integrating AI, automation, ERP, analytics, workflow, or related technologies into accounting-service delivery. Experience with private equity-backed, public-company, multinational, high-growth, or complex corporate environments. Experience designing new accounting-service offerings, methodologies, pricing models, or delivery structures. Experience developing strategic partnerships or alliances supporting finance-service delivery.
