# Social Worker

Military Treatment Facilities under DHA

About the Position: This position is located at EVANS Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, CO in the Social Work Services Department. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation This is an obligated Position in which an employee has return rights. Upon the employee's return, incumbent may be required to vacate this position. This position is a TERM position NTE 2 years. It is time-limited and may be extended up to maximum of eight years.
Provide individual and group clinical counseling services
Conduct case management services to effectively manage patients enrolled in behavioral intensive outpatient behavioral programs and prevent crises
Evaluate results of counseling methods to determine effectiveness of treatment used.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis, identified problems, and treatment needs for each case.
Independently provide comprehensive social work services in the form of casework and case management.
Provide individual, family, and group clinical counseling services using various evidenced based modalities.
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. AND License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted independent social work clinical licensure from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. (Note: You must attach a copy of your license.) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting psychiatric evaluations on patients, providing individual or group counseling to patients, and developing treatment plans for patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
