FINANCIAL SPECIALIST

Serves as a special assistant and advisor to the Chief of Staff, Industrial Base Pay. Reviews suspense, requests for information, special projects; etc., coming into the Director’s office or from the Director, Deputy, or CoS. Develops recommendations involving substantive impact on policies, procedures, systems and operations of the supported organizations and the agency. Develops policies with respect to enhancing customer service and ensure increases in customer service satisfaction by developing and implementing improvements in customer service operations. Conducts a variety of studies and performs special projects related to supported operations. Conducts analyses and studies on major projects within the supported organizations, reviews policies and directives for effectiveness and timely accomplishment of such projects. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Conducting analyses and studies to identify functional and operating financial deficiencies; developing programs and recommendations to enhance the employee and customer experience; advising/consulting management to support the mission and providing guidance and direction to staff. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.
