Senior Accountant

The Bolton Group is partnering with a company in the Columbus area to identify a Senior Accountant . This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on work, solving problems, and partnering with others to support accurate financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month-end close, general ledger accounting, and financial analysis while helping improve accounting processes. Responsibilities Include: Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Maintain general ledger accuracy and resolve accounting discrepancies. Prepare and analyze financial reports, explaining trends and variances. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting documentation. Assist with audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests. Support internal controls and compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP. Collaborate with other departments to gather information and resolve issues. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting. Assist with special projects and other accounting needs. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Typically 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting. Proficiency in Excel and experience using accounting software or ERP systems. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organization. Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively across teams. Public accounting experience and/or CPA designation is a plus, but not required.
