American Links Inc is committed to delivering respectful, high-quality service to every passenger. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Ambulette Driver role based in Syosset, NY. The Ambulette Driver safely transports passengers who use wheelchairs or require assistance, ensuring secure boarding, proper restraint of mobility devices, and comfortable travel to and from medical and non-medical appointments. Daily responsibilities include following assigned routes and schedules, performing basic vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle, and adhering to all traffic and safety regulations. The driver communicates clearly and courteously with passengers, caregivers, and dispatch, documenting trip details as required. The role requires consistent punctuality, professionalism, and a strong focus on passenger care and safety. Qualifications Vehicle operation skills, including experience with ambulette-sized vehicle. Valid driver’s license; CDL Class C with Passenger endorsement. Strong Communication skills to interact effectively with passengers, caregivers, and dispatch. Demonstrated Customer Service skills with a patient, respectful, and supportive approach to passengers with diverse needs. Clean driving record and knowledge of local traffic laws and safe driving practices. Ability to safely assist passengers with mobility devices, including wheelchair securement and safe transfers. Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow schedules and instructions with minimal supervision.
