Mammography Technologist

Role: Mammography Technologist responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography exams using specialized equipment. Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate, high-quality imaging. Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency and adheres to safety and infection control protocols. Prepares patients, verifies identification, and performs imaging procedures, including advanced techniques like biopsies and clip placements. Operates mammographic equipment to produce diagnostic images, ensuring optimal quality. Provides patient education, ensures comfort, and addresses concerns. Completes documentation, records procedures, and adheres to departmental protocols. Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT certification, and BLS certification. Preferred: mammography-specific ARRT certification and imaging experience. Skills include mammography, biopsies, radiation safety, image evaluation, effective communication, and task prioritization. Physical Requirements: Ability to read labels, operate equipment, assist with patient transfers, and stand for extended periods. Must have manual dexterity and be able to lift heavy items and navigate busy environments.
