About the team: The Unified Recommendations Platform (URP) team develops a scalable, integrated platform enhancing recommendation systems across Walmart Ads. The team designs and implements cloud-native, distributed systems supporting real-time data processing and AI integration. Focused on technical excellence and innovation, URP delivers reliable, high-quality software solutions. Team members collaborate to shape platform architecture and advance core capabilities. What you'll do: Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities. Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems. Lead system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural best practices. Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and intelligent automation features. Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence. Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics. Continuously improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and feedback integration. What you'll bring: Proven experience in software development lifecycle management, including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Strong expertise in cloud-native architecture principles such as microservices, containers, and automation. Proficiency in conducting system design reviews and applying software design patterns to ensure scalable, secure solutions. Demonstrated ability in API design, software prototyping, and DevOps engineering practices. Skilled in data-driven decision making to define success metrics and optimize engineering processes.
