Role Description The Account Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Minneapolis, MN. This role is responsible for developing and managing relationships with employers, benefits managers, and brokers to grow Colonial Life’s workplace benefits business. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and qualifying leads, conducting needs assessments, presenting benefit solutions, and supporting enrollment activities. The representative will follow up on proposals, manage pipelines, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth onboarding and service experience for accounts. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Colonial Life products, industry trends, and regulatory requirements, while meeting or exceeding sales targets and service standards. Qualifications Sales and relationship management skills, including prospecting, consultative selling, and account management. Customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefit options clearly to diverse audiences. Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple accounts, follow up on leads, and maintain accurate records. Basic business, financial, and analytical skills to assess employer needs and recommend appropriate benefit solutions. Comfort with technology, including CRM systems, presentation tools, and online enrollment platforms. Ability to work on-site in Minneapolis, MN, with reliable transportation for local client visits as needed. Prior experience in insurance, employee benefits, or B2B sales is preferred but not required. High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
