Software Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer at Global Education. The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs that power the organization’s educational platforms. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, well-documented code, implementing object-oriented solutions, reviewing code from peers, and troubleshooting production issues. The role also involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine requirements, improve system architecture, and enhance performance and reliability. The Software Engineer will participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to technical documentation, and help ensure best practices in security, testing, and deployment. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles. Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar). Experience in Back-End Web Development, including building APIs, working with databases, and integrating with cloud or third-party services. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and ability to apply them to design maintainable, scalable systems. Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), unit and integration testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with distributed teams. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with educational technology, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), or data security and privacy in web applications is a plus.
