TCI is looking for an Assistant PTO (Power Take-Off) Specialist to support our markets throughout MO, IL, and IN! The Assistant PTO Specialist helps keep things going as our in-house expert on mobile hydraulic systems to provide technical support and solutions for our customers and service technicians. He or she is responsible for designing and troubleshooting all aspects of PTO systems, hydraulics, valves, and components. This role is a Shared Services position located in our Troy, IL location that will require travel about 15% of the time. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Give customers technical support and PTO repair or service options by phone and email, and keep the focus on solving their problem. Call customers back once the parts for their orders are located. Enter part numbers into our system to price parts on orders. Go through customer orders and daily contacts to make sure every callback is made and every part is ordered. Make sales calls to regular and potential customers to find out what they need right now. Monitor PTO parts inventory. Return obsolete, damaged, or incorrect parts to vendors, follow through on the credits or warranties that apply, and tell management about any issues. Respond quickly when team members and customers need help identifying the correct parts and accessories for the hydraulic setup on a customer's vehicle. Work with vendors on competitive pricing, custom quotes, and information updates in our dealer management system. Promote PTO sales in your area of responsibility, working with the corporate parts team, operations, and parts sales. Read bulletins and keep up with current and new information about parts, the department, and the business. Stay current on how individual hydraulic components work and on technical changes to them. Use equipment and resources safely and responsibly, following applicable laws, environmental and safety regulations, and company policy. What We're Looking For: High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of relevant work experience in heavy-duty truck parts or service Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements Must have above average math skills, basic algebra skills, and understand the mathematical order of operations as dealing with hydraulic equations is a daily function of the role Basic understanding and ability to read and articulate hydraulic schematics to customers Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including mechanical aptitude Ability to work efficiently and maintain physical and emotional stamina to safely manage a fast-paced work environment with changing workloads and priorities Resourceful, collaborative team player with the ability to also self-manage time and thrive independently Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and specialized equipment preferred Ability to travel about 15% of the time.
