We are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Gasification) to take ownership of the development, testing, andoptimization of our novel biomass gasification systems, solids feed and removal systems, andfeedstock pretreatment systems to enable reliable, high efficiency conversion as we scale fromdemonstration to pilot and beyond. As a core member of a small, hands-on gasification team, you’llguide daily operations, exe Responsibilities Execute design, procurement, assembly, testing and operation of high-pressure solids feed and removal hardware.  Contribute to 3D modeling, structural analysis, fabrication drawings and PFD’s / fluid P&ID’s as well as test plans and procedures.  Find robust, cost-effective solutions to solve Arbor’s electro-mechanical, thermal, and fluid system design problems.  Manage large assembly BOMs and work across departments to deliver project results.  Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical Engineering, or related field.  7+ years of experience in combustion system design, analysis, and testing.  Experience with electro-mechanical and/or chemical conversion systems.  Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.  Hands-on experience with high-temperature and pressure equipment.  Demonstrated ability to own product lifecycle from conceptual design to validation.  Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical Engineering, or related field.  Experience with biomass or solids conveyance and feeding systems.  Knowledge of chemical kinetics and fuel property effects on combustion behavior.  Programming or scripting skills for data reduction and automation (Python, MATLAB, or similar).  Experience working in startup or experimental R&D environments.  Salary $150K - $175K a year, subject to applicant’s skills, qualifications, and experience  Compensation & Benefits Stock options  Medical, dental, and vision insurance (Arbor covers 90% for employees)  Basic life insurance fully covered  Health savings account (HSA) with matching  Flexible savings account (FSA)  Unlimited PTO    12+ company holidays, including Earth Day!    401(k)  Commuter benefits  Annual learning and development stipend  And more!  Our Commitment Arbor Energy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
