# Regional Procurement Buyer

The Role&nbsp; The Regional Procurement Buyer is a key member of the Procurement team, responsible for managing purchasing activities across assigned cannabis production facilities. The primary focus area includes: purchasing &amp; ownership of cultivation-related indirect materials, grow supplies, and MRO, with additional support for categories such as Professional Services, IT, Marketing, Facilities, and HR. This role ensures the timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of goods and services to meet site needs with a focus on strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration. The Buyer plays a critical role in optimizing inventory, reducing total cost of ownership, and enabling scalable operations in collaboration with the corporate team and the production facilities.&nbsp; If Chicago based expected to go into office 1x a week&nbsp; If Massachusetts based need to go to Holyoke/Clinton location 1x a month Responsibilities&nbsp; Purchase Order Management&nbsp; Create and manage purchase orders in ERP systems; monitor shipments, coordinate deliveries, and confirm paymentsEngage&nbsp;established&nbsp;vendors&nbsp;for required needs, new vendors specific to sites&nbsp;for pricing, product availability, and lead times; onboard new suppliers as needed&nbsp;under corporate procurement guidance.&nbsp; Ensure PO accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly;&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;organized records and procurement reports.&nbsp; Communicate with vendors and internal teams to track order status, delivery schedules, and invoicing.&nbsp; Inventory &amp; Demand Planning&nbsp; Collaborate with cultivation and facilities teams to forecast supply needs and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;optimal&nbsp;inventory levels.&nbsp; Develop purchasing strategies to minimize shortages and excess stock while supporting seamless&nbsp;grow&nbsp;operations.&nbsp; Leverage web-based tools and ERP data to drive efficient and cost-effective buying decisions.&nbsp; Quality &amp; Compliance&nbsp; Ensure purchases meet internal quality standards and cannabis industry regulations.&nbsp; Partner with Compliance and QA teams to provide documentation and resolve issues.&nbsp; Monitor supplier performance across cost, service, and quality metrics.&nbsp; Procurement Operations &amp; Logistics&nbsp; Contribute to the development and execution of indirect procurement strategies and continuous process improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency.&nbsp; Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for assigned procurement areas/categories, providing end-to-end support for ERP/MRP systems—including configuration, training rollout, and policy enforcement—in collaboration with Corporate Procurement.&nbsp; Manage supplier relationships, coordinate&nbsp;logistics, and ensure on-time delivery of materials and services within the assigned region.&nbsp; Collaborate closely with warehouse and inventory teams to&nbsp;optimize&nbsp;storage, material handling, and distribution of inputs and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies.&nbsp; Lead negotiations for bulk or one-time purchases,&nbsp;leveraging&nbsp;data and vendor insights to secure favorable terms and value-added services.&nbsp; Cross-Functional Collaboration&nbsp; Align closely with Grow Operations and Facilities teams to support&nbsp;timely&nbsp;procurement for&nbsp;grow&nbsp;cycles and equipment needs.&nbsp; Coordinate with Finance and Compliance to ensure procurement aligns with regulatory and budgetary standards.&nbsp; Educate internal stakeholders on procurement workflows and compliance with best practices.&nbsp; Qualifications&nbsp;&nbsp; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Agriculture, or related field; CSCP/CPSM certification preferred.&nbsp; 3–5 years of procurement experience in agriculture, cannabis, CPG, or manufacturing, with a focus on indirect spend.&nbsp; Familiarity with cannabis cultivation, MRO sourcing, and regulatory compliance is highly valued.&nbsp; Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, inventory platforms, and Microsoft Office tools.&nbsp; Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills; able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.&nbsp; Effective communicator with a proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused mindset.&nbsp; Additional Requirements&nbsp; Must pass&nbsp;any and all&nbsp;required background checks&nbsp;&nbsp; Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry&nbsp;&nbsp; Must possess valid driver’s license&nbsp; Must be a minimum of 21 years of age&nbsp; Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role.
