# Database Geologist

About Us Avesoro Resources is a gold-focused mining company committed to operational excellence, sustainability, and continuous improvement. As part of our growing operations, we are seeking a Database Geologist to join our Geology team and support the effective management, validation, and quality assurance of geological data across our mining and exploration activities. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain geological databases, including collar, survey, lithology, alteration, mineralisation, sampling, assay, density, and geotechnical data. Import, validate, and update drillhole and exploration data received from field teams, laboratories, and other relevant sources. Perform routine database validation and data integrity checks to identify missing, duplicate, overlapping, or inconsistent records. Validate collar coordinates, downhole surveys, geological logging, sample intervals, and assay results to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Maintain sample tracking systems and monitor outstanding assay results. Manage and monitor geological QA/QC data, including Certified Reference Materials (CRM), blanks, and duplicates, and identify potential failures or data-quality issues. Support the investigation and resolution of data discrepancies in coordination with geologists, laboratories, and other relevant stakeholders. Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for database updates, corrections, and changes. Prepare clean, validated, and well-structured geological datasets for geological modelling and Mineral Resource Estimation (MRE). Support Resource Geologists with data preparation, database exports, and troubleshooting of geological datasets in Leapfrog and other geological modelling software. Review historical geological data and assist in identifying data gaps, inconsistencies, and information requiring further verification. Prepare routine geological database and QA/QC reports and maintain appropriate technical records and documentation. Support technical due diligence processes and Mineral Resource Estimate studies as required. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences , or a related discipline. Additional training or certification in geological database management, resource geology, or geological modelling is an advantage. Experience 1–2 years of relevant experience in exploration geology, mining geology, geological database management, or a related field. Practical experience working with drillhole, sampling, and assay data. Experience supporting geological modelling, resource estimation, or exploration database activities is preferred. Previous experience within the mining or mineral exploration industry, particularly gold mining, is an advantage. Technical Skills Practical understanding of geological data management and QA/QC principles. Experience with Leapfrog, acQuire, Geobank, Datashed, or equivalent geological database and modelling software is preferred. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of SQL and relational databases is an advantage. Understanding of drillhole database structures, sample tracking, assay management, and geological data validation processes. Basic understanding of data requirements for geological modelling and Mineral Resource Estimation. Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to identify inconsistencies and systematically investigate data-quality issues. Ability to manage multiple datasets and priorities effectively. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively with geologists, laboratories, technical teams, and other stakeholders. Proactive approach to continuous improvement and geological data quality. Language Good written and spoken English communication skills.
