Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, assisting with month-end close activities, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting. Key Responsibilities : Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger adjustments. Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy. Analyze financial data and investigate account discrepancies. Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed. Prepare and file sales tax and other regulatory reports. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper accounting procedures are followed. Assist with annual audits by gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests. Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1-3+ years of accounting experience preferred. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Public accounting experience a plus. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Sage. CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is preferred but not required.
