# Business Data Analyst

About The Role The Business Data Analyst turns operational and customer data into reliable reporting, decision-ready analysis, and measurable recommendations. The role works across SQL data models, product analytics, financial metrics, and business intelligence workflows to help teams understand performance and identify opportunities for improvement. The analyst partners with product, operations, finance, and engineering stakeholders to define metrics, investigate trends, and deliver dashboards that can be trusted. This role is well suited to someone who is comfortable moving between data exploration and stakeholder-facing analysis in a fast-growing technology environment. Key Responsibilities Query and analyze large datasets using SQL to identify trends, anomalies, drivers, and opportunities across product and business operations Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports in Looker, Tableau, or Power BI, ensuring consistent metric definitions and clear presentation Translate ambiguous business questions into analytical plans, documented requirements, and actionable recommendations Collaborate with analytics engineers and data engineers to improve source data quality, dimensional models, and reporting pipelines Develop reusable analysis workflows in Python or R for forecasting, segmentation, experimentation, and ad hoc business investigations Define and monitor key performance indicators across acquisition, engagement, retention, revenue, and operational efficiency Present findings to cross-functional stakeholders using concise narratives, clear visualizations, and defensible analytical methods What We Are Looking For 1–3 years of experience in business analytics, data analysis, product analytics, operations analytics, or a related role Advanced SQL skills, including multi-table joins, common table expressions, window functions, aggregations, and query optimization Hands-on experience with a business intelligence platform such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Mode Working proficiency in Python or R for data cleaning, exploratory analysis, visualization, and statistical analysis Strong understanding of analytical concepts including metric design, cohort analysis, experimentation, forecasting, and data validation Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, statistics, economics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field Bonus: experience with dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Git, or experimentation platforms
