Tracelink is recognized as an industry leader by Gartner and IDC, and for having a great company culture by Comparably.Position OverviewAs part of our Engineering organization, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of application code for back-end, server-centric components, as well as all related activities within the application development process. Responsibilities Develop software that takes best advantage of our cloud-based fully-distributed architectureCan size a complex story or epic incorporating interdependent deliverables and resourcesHelps keep a project that may span several user stories on track from start to finish. Helps peers understand downstream implications of decisions.Provide architectural input for software development efforts utilizing a thorough understanding of various technologies such as web applications, relational databases, information security, cloud-based services, etc.Provide high-level analysis and design reviews to apply appropriate technologies and architecture to solve conceptual problems; ensure design, structure, and content meet performance guidelinesA proactive contributor in helping to inform product strategy and roadmapResearch and remain informed of new technology and tools, and how such technologies could be applied at TraceLink; recommend extension, expansion, and update of technology standards, practices, and methodologiesActively participate in all phases of the software development lifecycleReview and analyze current systems and processes, matched against user needs and business requirements to determine technical requirementsWork closely with our QA team; assist with test planning as appropriateIntegrate 3rd party components as appropriate   Required Skills and Qualifications 8+ years of software development experienceExperience in software development in JavaExperience in developing web-services and Web-based APIsExperience with software development best practices: version control, defect tracking, unit testing, etc.Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, and collaborate with other disciplinesExperience with software development best practices, development methodologies, version control, defect trackingExperience in building cloud-based applications on platforms such as Amazon Web ServicesBS or equivalent requiredExcellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and clearly, and collaborate with other disciplines Preferred Skills and Qualifications Experience developing a product in an Agile development environmentExperience with distributed computing architecturesExperience in large-scale, distributed database systems such as StarRocks or clickhouseExperience with Big DataExperience with NoSQL and/or SQL architecturesExperience in developing Enterprise Software (e.g. Supply Chain, ERP, Manufacturing)Experience with the pharmaceutical industryExperience with Amazon AWS or Azure deployment and servicesAbility to clearly articulate the reasoning, decision criteria, and thought process used when working with product data and business objects, enabling that expertise to be documented, standardized, and leveraged by AI-driven tools.TraceLink is committed to providing competitive compensation and benefits to all employees.
